A Suffolk County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped Ridge resident Bryan Mahoney at approximately 3:09 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, when he was was unable to maintain his lane while traveling through Islip.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, during the subsequent traffic stop, Mahoney displayed clues of being intoxicated, and he proceeded to fail multiple standardized field sobriety tests.
Mahoney was arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Station 17, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.
Mahoney was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated and cited for multiple traffic and vehicle violations. He was released to a sober third-party and is scheduled to appear in court next month to respond to the DWI charge.
